What you are agreeing to when you book a wrap — including what happens to the paint underneath.
Build note: boilerplate shaped to this business, referencing the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. It is not legal advice — have it checked before publication.
These are the terms you agree to when you book work with Foundry Wrap Co. Ltd, company number 11284630, Unit 3, Attercliffe Works, Effingham Road, Sheffield, S9 3QS.
A price given from photographs is an estimate range, not a quote. A firm quote follows once the vehicle has been inspected in person, because panel count, paint condition and previous bodywork all change the job.
If we find something during the work that changes what is needed, we stop and ring you. We never carry out extra work and invoice for it afterwards.
Film for a colour change is ordered to your job in the colour and finish you chose. That is why a deposit is required to confirm a booking, and why cancelling late is treated differently to cancelling early.
Cancel more than seven days before the slot and the deposit carries over or is refunded. Cancel inside seven days, once film has been ordered and cut to the vehicle, and we may retain the deposit to cover the film. We will always tell you at the point of booking whether your film has been ordered yet.
If you booked over the phone or online without visiting us, you normally have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Where you asked us to start — including ordering bespoke film — within that period, you may owe us for what has already been supplied.
Film sticks to what is there. On sound, original paint it removes cleanly and the panel comes out as it went in. On resprayed panels, filler, or lacquer that is already failing, film can lift the surface when it is removed, and that is a risk we cannot eliminate.
We inspect before quoting and tell you where we think that risk exists. Where you ask us to proceed anyway, we will note it in writing and we cannot accept liability for paint that was already compromised.
We do not wrap freshly painted panels. New paint needs time to gas off and film traps solvent. We will give you a date rather than a refusal.
Nothing beyond the agreed job happens without your authorisation. Where we recommend paint correction before film and you decline it, we will note that on the invoice — film follows what is underneath, and a chip or scratch will show through.
Our application is warranted for twelve months against lifting and edge failure in normal use. The film itself carries its own manufacturer warranty, which varies by product and which we will tell you at quote stage.
The warranty does not cover damage from automatic car washes, pressure washing at close range into the edges, impact damage, or failure caused by paint that was already compromised. An aftercare sheet comes with every vehicle.
We keep an offcut of your film on file so a damaged panel can be matched later rather than requiring a full re-wrap.
Where a wrap changes the main colour of your vehicle, you must update your V5C with DVLA. This applies to wraps as well as resprays, and it is free. Stripes, decals, roof wraps and chrome delete do not change the main colour and do not require it.
A wrap is also a modification your insurer expects to be told about. Failing to declare it can affect a claim. Both of these are your responsibility rather than ours, but we will remind you at quote stage rather than after the film is on.
Please take valuables out before you drop the vehicle off. Vehicles are kept inside secured premises and are not left on the street overnight. We hold motor trade road risk cover for driving customer vehicles, which is required under the Road Traffic Act 1988 for road testing and collection.
If a vehicle is left more than 14 days after we have told you it is ready, we may charge reasonable storage.
A deposit confirms the booking and the balance is due on collection, by card or bank transfer. We do not release a vehicle before the invoice is settled. Trade and fleet accounts can be arranged on agreed terms, and late payment may carry interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Nothing here removes your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price where none was agreed. If something falls short you are entitled to have it put right, and if that is not possible, to a price reduction.
Ring the studio and ask for the owner. Most complaints are a misunderstanding about what was agreed, and looking at the vehicle together settles it. If it does not, put it in writing to the address above and we will respond within 14 days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
